Umniah selects Ericsson as exclusive RAN partner for 3G, 4G and 5G rollout

Umniah by Beyon has signed a five-year agreement naming Ericsson as its exclusive radio access network (RAN) supplier for 3G, 4G and 5G technologies in Jordan.

Under the deal, Umniah will modernise and expand its network using Ericsson Radio System solutions, including Massive MIMO TDD AIR 6419, dual-band Radio 4490, and Basebands 6631 and 6621. The upgrades will increase capacity, enhance energy efficiency, and improve performance across the Kingdom.

The partnership supports Jordan’s National Digital Transformation Strategy, extending coverage to underserved areas and enabling new digital services such as smart manufacturing, telemedicine and real-time logistics. Umniah will also deploy Ericsson Spectrum Sharing to introduce 5G on existing 4G bands with minimal disruption.

Both companies said the agreement will help reduce network power consumption while driving innovation, inclusion and sustainable growth in Jordan’s digital economy.
