Es’hailSat and EgyptSat sign MENA VSAT deal

Satellite services and solutions providers Qatar-based Es’hailSat and EgyptSat have signed a multi-year satellite capacity agreement, enabling EgyptSat to provide VSAT services to its customer base in Egypt and across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

This multi-year capacity agreement combines the high capabilities of the Es’hail-1 satellite with the robust ground infrastructure of both companies.

This partnership is expected to benefit a diverse range of customers through multiple applications, including VSAT communications, enterprise networks, telecommunications, and other digital services. The two companies are also expanding their collaboration to include areas such as training, pricing and working together as preferred partners.

A VSAT (very small aperture terminal) is a two-way satellite ground station that communicates with satellites in geosynchronous or geostationary orbit to provide reliable, high-speed internet and data connectivity, particularly in remote, rural or maritime locations. It is often seen as useful for remote businesses requiring continuous connectivity, such as oil platforms and mining sites.

This agreement builds upon a partnership established by the two companies last year for the purpose of providing joint satellite services across their customer bases located in Egypt and spread across the MENA region.

The partnership allows the customers of both companies to leverage the combined satellite services as well as the wide ground infrastructure of both companies that brings with it the latest technologies related to both satellite communications and VSATs.

Es’hailSat provides satellite, broadcast, teleport and managed services from Doha, catering to broadcasters, telecommunication companies, enterprises, mobility applications and governments across the MENA region. The company says that its two satellites at 25.5/26 East, together with its 50,000 sqm Tier-4 certified teleport facility, provide reliable and robust connectivity services.

EgyptSat, headquartered in Cairo, delivers advanced connectivity solutions across the MENA region. The company specialises in VSAT services, broadband internet, VoIP and SCADA systems, serving critical sectors such as marine, banking, and transportation. With its own teleport and VSAT hubs in Egypt, EgyptSat says it leverages in-house research and strategic partnerships to deliver high-speed satellite solutions.
