Kazakh telco Transtelecom (TTC) and payments firm CNP Processing announced a partnership on Thursday that will enable local enterprises to use Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies for payment services, with local data storage and processing.
Under the partnership, TTC will provide its data centre infrastructure to host AWS Outposts, which enables AWS infrastructure and services to be deployed in a local data centre.
This allows businesses to use AWS tools while keeping data within the host country – a critical factor for the payments sector, given the requirements for local storage of personal data, as well as the need for secure and resilient transaction processing.
TTC said that hosting AWS Outposts in its data centres will serve as the basis for developing a hybrid IT infrastructure for CNP Processing – including utility systems, power supply, connectivity, and physical security.
This will not only ensure stable operation of online payments and low latency for transaction processing, but also allow CNP Processing to further develop its services by leveraging technologies from a global cloud platform, TTC said.
